1) PATTON. A nice example of a US M1913 cavalry saber often referred to as the Patton saber. The saber measures 42 1/2" overall with a 35 1/2" plain blade with a medium central fuller. The blade is marked at the ricasso " US 9409" & "S (flaming bomb) A 1914". Solid sheet iron guard with iron backstrap and pommel. Crosshatched black grip and no scabbard. CONDITION: light wear overall with a touch of dimpling to the hilt. 2) AUSTRIAN. A good representative example of a M1850 Austrian LIght Cavalry saber measuring 39 1/4" overall with a 33 1/4" plain flat blade. The blade has several arsenal marks near the ricasso with no apparent manufacturers marks. Sheet iron pierced basket guard and iron backstrap/pommel. Wooden grip and no scabbard. CONDITION: Blade has been cleaned to gray and may have been slightly shortened. Grip has no leather or wire remaining. 3) FRENCH. A small French enlisted infantry hanger measuring 31" overall with a 25 1/2" plain blade with a single wide fuller. The blade has French markings on the spine attributing the blade to Klingenthal. Brass hilt with a replaced leather grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: near relic condition with an oxidized blade and worn hilt. (02-24262-2/BF). NON-GUN. $500-700.
