A fine piece of NJ coin silver, in very good shape.</em></td>

8 3/4" long. Mono on front looks like PWA, but it may be GWC, GWA, or something else entirely. Hard to tell. The back is stamped G. Spence in a half circle, with a lion passant, capital D, and head looking right. This is the mark of Gaven Spence, of Newark, NJ, whose business operated from 1869 to 1918. There is a shell decoration on the back of the bowl where it meets the handle. Tarnish appears to be the only thing wrong with this spoon, which weighs 51.2 grams.
