This lot comprises one bottle of 1988 vintage Château Petrus from the Pomerol appellation in Bordeaux.

Pomerol is along with Saint-Émilion one of the best-known and most popular appellations on the right bank of the Gironde. In contrast to Médoc, the most widely used grape variety here is Merlot. The wines are more elegant and can be enjoyed sooner than the Cabernet Sauvignon blends but most do not have the same aging potential.

The 1988 vintage Château Palmer was last awarded 91 points by Robert Parker. Swiss Bordeaux expert René Gabriel rated the wine 19 out of 20 points. James Suckling gave it a score of 95 points for Wine Spectator in 2009.

The fill level is excellent (into neck). The label is soiled; the capsule is in perfect condition.
