The appellation Pessac-Léognan is part of the Graves wine region, south of the city of Bordeaux. Vines thrive on the Ice Age gravel terraces, producing first-class mineral red wines made up of Cabernet Sauvignon and some Merlot and Cabernet franc. Aside from Château Haut-Brion, the region’s iconic Premier cru classé, Pape-Clément and Smith Haut-Lafite are the leading wine growers of the region. The appellation is also the home of intense, powerful dry white wines. Cuvées made from Sauvignon blanc and Sémillon are aromatic and structurally characterized by Sauvignon blanc.

The 1988 vintage Château Haut-Brion was last awarded 94 points by Robert Parker. René Gabriel rated the wine 19 points.

The fill level is excellent (< 3 cm). The label is slightly soiled. The capsule is in perfect condition.
