This lot comprises one bottle of 1981 vintage Château Lafleur from the Pomerol appellation in Bordeaux.

Pomerol is along with Saint-Émilion one of the best-known and most popular appellations on the right bank of the Gironde. In contrast to Médoc, the most widely used grape variety here is Merlot. The wines are more elegant and can be enjoyed sooner than the Cabernet Sauvignon blends but most do not have the same aging potential.

1981 was a very good vintage with ideal weather throughout, even during the harvest. Especially Merlot-based wines from Pomerol and Saint-Émilion are a great pleasure to drink today.

The 1981 vintage Lafleur was rated 87 points in a 2000 issue of Wine Spectator magazine.

The fill level is excellent (into neck). The label is soiled and slightly damaged. The capsule is in perfect condition.
