One unopened U.S. Mint-issued $25 roll of 2002-D Sacagawea golden dollar coins. Each roll contains twenty-five manganese-brass clad copper coins, each with a face value of one dollar. These coins were struck at the Denver Mint, as indicated by the "D" mintmark. The obverse of each coin features a portrait of Sacagawea (1788-1812), the Shoshone interpreter and guide to the Lewis and Clark Expedition. She is depicted in profile, carrying her infant son, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau, on her back. The inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST appear on the obverse, with the year of issue, 2002, placed to the right of Sacagawea's figure. The reverse displays a soaring eagle encircled by seventeen stars, symbolizing the states of the Union at the time of the Lewis and Clark expedition. The inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination ONE DOLLAR. The roll remains sealed in its original yellow and black U.S. Mint paper wrap, with both ends crimped and showing one obverse and one reverse design. Coin diameter: 26.5mm. Coin roll: 2.25"L x 1"W.
