This beautiful gold pocket watch, weighing 1.46 troy ounces, is a 0 size Waltham "Riverside Maximus" pendant style pocket watch in a hunter case. The exterior of case is deeply engraved in high relief and embossed with a very fine floral design. The initials ED appear on the front signet portal. The dial is single-sunk white enamel, in a montgomery style that features large black Arabic numerals in the hour chapter, red Arabic numerals in the outermost chapter ring in 5-minute intervals, and black Arabic numerals in the seconds dial. The face is inscribed "Waltham" and the hands are blued spades. Stem wind, stem set. The interior of the front case is engraved "From/ J & G to E/ Nov. 9-1904". The interior of the rear case is marked "Keystone/ 14k/ 4735753" and the interior of the cuvet is marked "Warranted 14k/ .585 FINE/ The K.W.C. Co/ 4735753". The dainty 3/4 plate movement is engraved "A.W.W. CO./ Waltham, Mass/ 19 Jewels/ Riverside/ Maximus/ Adjusted/ 10563727". The serial number dates this watch to 1901, and there were only 500 of this particular model ever made, making this quite a fine timepiece. This lot includes a 25" long gold coil chain with a 12mm x 13mm heart shaped slider. The back is engraved EHD and the front features fine engraved scrollwork and a central, five-point 2.7mm garnet setting. There appears to be one tiny repair to the 0.39 troy ounce chain. A very fine watch.
