Tan calfskin batwing show chaps made by W R (Roy) Rhodes of Kansas City, MO in the 1930s are adorned with four Crockett engraved 1 3/4" four-petal flower, silver conchos on each wing and highlighted by a two-tone floral carved border, billet and outside pockets. The silver buckles were made and marked by H Miller of Olathe, Kansas. HIS are 39" long and shows minimal use. HERS measure 35" long and show wear. Rhodes worked for Shipley in 1929 and for Oscar Crockett from 1930-32, making virtually all the leather items and saddles pictured in Crockett’s only saddle catalog published in 1931, The Crockett Saddle & Harness Co Catalog No. 1 states Our shop which employs only finished mechanics is in charge of W R (Roy) Rhodes, who has spent the last twenty years in the best known shops in the western country.
