Bill and Jackie Owens were big fans of western movies and they became friends with Maynard who lived in a run down trailer park half a block from the shop. Part of my duties included helping Ken with his (frequent) car problems. In the summer of 1969 he handed me the hat after I finished working on his engine stating Young fella, take this hat. It will be worth something one day.

Bill and Jackie Owens were big fans of western movies and they became friends with Maynard who lived in a run down trailer park half a block from the shop. Part of my duties included helping Ken with his (frequent) car problems. In the summer of 1969 he handed me the hat after I finished working on his engine stating Young fella, take this hat.
