Measuring 26" x 9" x 9".

Original prototype Predator weapon prop that was made to be used by Jean-Claude Van Damme when he was originally cast as the Predator in the production of the John McTiernan directed science fiction action film 'Predator' (1987), starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite paramilitary rescue team on a mission to save hostages in guerrilla-held territory in a Central American rainforest, who encounter the deadly Predator (Kevin Peter Hall), a skilled, technologically advanced alien who stalks and hunts them down.

Constructed of cast fiberglass and resin components, expertly assembled and painted in otherworldly, gold metallic paint with red tinge. Featuring a bell-shaped handguard with integral cross-grip and a serrated, tiered blade.

This prop weapon was created by visual effects company Boss Film Studios before the production ultimately hired Stan Winston Studio for the film.

This prop belonged to the film's producer Joel Silver.

Jean-Claude Van Damme was originally cast as the Predator in the 1987 film, aiming to bring an agile, martial-arts-focused, "ninja-like" creature to life. However, he was fired shortly into production due to the suit's uncomfortable, restrictive design, his frustration with being hidden on screen, and his 5'9" stature not being imposing enough. Tensions escalated on set in Mexico, with reports suggesting he was difficult to work with or that he broke a $20,000 Predator head, leading producer Joel Silver to fire him.
