In 1972, Lamar Hunt became the first American Football League (AFL) personage inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and in 1984 the league created the Lamar Hunt Trophy which is presented every year to the AFC Champion team. The Lamar Hunt trophy was presented to the Los Angeles Raiders on January 9th, 1984, on their way to victory in Super Bowl XVIII. Made of polished metal on wood base, 8" tall x 16" long in the shape of a football, has a backdrop of football players in the midst of a play with an AFC "A" logo on top. On the front are two plaques, one of which reads "Lamar Hunt Trophy" and the other "1983 Champion Of The American Football Conference, Los Angeles Raiders, AFC Championship Game, Los Angeles Raiders 30, Seattle Seahawks 14, Sunday, January 9, 1984, Los Angeles Coliseum, L.A., CA". This duplicate trophy is almost impossible to find and is in overall NRMT condition with only the slightest wear. This lot will be expensive to ship.
