Zachys Wine Auctions

About Zachys Wine Auctions

The Zachys Wine Auction experience reaches back to the introduction of wine auctions into New York City in 1994. Don Zacharia, owner of Zachys, played a major role in convincing regulators in Albany to allow the selling of fine wine at auction in New York. Zachys then approached Christie’s and formed a strategic partnership which became the most successful wine auction business in the newly created marketplace. During their seven year association, Zachys-Christie’s set many still unbroken wine auction records. Zachys created much of the wine auction infrastructure which now supports Zachys Wine Auctions, Inc. After splitting from Christie’s, Don Zacharia reassembled the key players from the winning Zachys-Christie’s team under the Zachys banner.
