Auction Details

Highlighted in this auction will be a collection of Antique Oriental items from the inventory of Fisher Galleries and Duncan and Duncan Chinese Gallery, both formerly of Washington, DC.

Fisher Galleries original trip to the People’s Republic of China was in 1972 where they obtained a large group of fine quality Oriental items. They made many successive buying trips over the years and felt privileged to be a part of this historic business development between the United States and the government of China. Fisher Galleries was one of the first U.S. businesses to conduct direct sales in the government warehouses in Mainland China. Phillip Fisher died in 1978 and many of these items have been in storage since then. Miriam Fisher Reno has decided to sell this inventory so others might enjoy their beauty and uniqueness. Many of these items have never been shown in this country and came directly from the People’s Republic of China in the 1970’s.
