China is the birthplace of porcelain. With features of delicate textures, pleasing colors, exquisite sculptures, and glossy smoothness, porcelain, also called “fine china” was one of the earliest crafts and artworks in human history.

As early as the Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD), Jingdezhen, China was famous for its production of porcelain and ceramics. More than a thousand years ago (Jingde Reign of Song Dynasty 1004), Jingdezhen was responsible for making porcelain and ceramics for the Emperors’ families. Starting from the fourteenth century (Ming Dynasty 1368 – 1644) Jingdezhen porcelain was introduced to western countries and Europe through the Silk Road, which also brough Chinese culture and civilization to the world.

Today, the most famous ceramic porcelains are manufactured in Jingdezhen. This auction will feature a large selection of exquisite hand crafted porcelain from Jingdezhen.
