Treadway/Toomey Galleries, announces their Sunday, March 6th, 20th Century Art and Design Auction located at the John Toomey Gallery in Oak Park Illinois. Included are over 1200 lots of furniture, lighting, metalwork, pottery, and glassware from the Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau period through a broad range of Modern Design, as well as a selection of fine European and American paintings, prints, and sculpture. The first session will feature several important Dirk van Erp pieces, an early Gustav Stickley bookcase, as well Limbert, Arts & Crafts,and others Fine glassware, lamps, and pottery are represented by Galle, Daum, Oscar Bach, Tiffany, and Loetz, Steuben, Amphora, Rookwood, Grueby, Marblehead, as well as a rare Weller Rhead umbrella stand. Session two include a mixture of traditional and modern paintings by such artists Fairfield Porter, Paul Turner Sargent, Alexander Brook, Pal Fried, Guy Wiggins, Carl Kraft, Frank Bennett, Potthast, and others. Fine sculptures by Jospeh Goethe, Douglas Abdell, and others. The third and final session of the sale, 1950s/Modern. Such designers as, George Nelson, Gio Ponti, Eames, Nakashima, Tommy Parzinger, Harvey Probber, Daniel Rhodes, Knoll, Mies van der Rohe, Paul Frankl, Higgins, Wormley’s, Gilbert Rohde, Paul McCobb, Robert Probst, Eero Saarinen, Frank Lloyd Wright, Finn Juhl, and much more.
