Zionist Shekel: Voting for the Zionist Congress, 1935. This Zionist Shekel contains the following inscriptions: "Hashekel", "Herzl", "Medina Ivrit", "Vienna 1895", " The Zionist Certificate: Guiding the People of Israel in Eretz Israel" (The Basilea Plan), with a stamp "Voted", confirming that the holder of the shekel participated in the elections for the 19th Zionist Congress. In good condition: some foxing, slightly yellowing paper. * The Zionist Shekel was a currency of the Zionist Organization. The currency was symbolic and was converted in each country to the local currency. The "Shokel" - one who bought a Zionist shekel - purhcased the right to elect delegates in the Zionist Congress. According to the number of shekels sold in each country, the number of delegates that country was entitled to send to Congress was determined. Each shokel was given a receipt as a certificate for weighing the shekel.
