Desirable high quality bolt action sporting rifle chambered in .22 Hornet, manufactured circa 1935. The model 54 was the Winchester's first bolt action rifle built to handle heavy high-velocity ammunition, production lasted from 1925-1936 with just over 50,000 produced. Features a blued finish, 24" tapered barrel, ramped blade front sight with bead top, installed scope blocks in the rear sight dovetail & on the rear of the receiver, drilled & tapped receiver, serrated trigger, polished bolt with three-position safety, non-detachable box magazine, sling swivels and checkered walnut pistol grip shoulder stock with white diamond inlays on either side of the action, a round bass escutcheon on the right side of the stock & knurled metal buttplate. Rifle exhibits approximately 80% of it's original finish showing heavy wear on the trigger guard & floorplate, some thinning & handling marks on barrel forward of the stock and a very small amount of emerging surface rust on the receiver. Action is smooth, the bore is excellent, markings are mostly very good and the wood stock is good to very good with semi-worn checkering. Condition is NRA Good++. ***C&R Firearm***
