Davis and Louis Heckman - shook hands and founded a silversmith company known at the time as Wade, Davis & Co. They opened doors in August of that year and debuted with a collection of sterling silver jewelry and popular designs of the Late Victorian era, including stickpins, bracelets, earrings and bar pins. Throughout the decades, Whiting & Davis grew a name for the brand as leaders in innovation, developing and reinventing technology for the finest mesh, handbag and jewelry designs. Throughout the 1920s the company was extremely popular for there mesh purse such as this one. Both in the twenties and toady there purses where worn and used by celebrities due to there quality and beauty. This purses features an art deco style with the infamous white mesh as well as a purple inner lining. It is marked Whiting & Davis Co. Overall condition of the purse is good for its age.
