For your consideration is this large No. 9 Wagner Ware "Drip Drop" oval roaster. Wagner Ware was a cookware company founded in 1891 in Sidney, Ohio by Milton M. and Bernard P. Wagner. By 1913 Wagner was distributing its products overseas also. At one point the company had a 60% share in the cookware market. The company also was the first to manufacture aluminum cookware. Wagner went defunct in 1953, having been acquired by Randall Company. The Wagner name has been bought and sold many times and still appears on items made by American Culinary. This oval roaster is marked "Wagner Ware Drip Drop Roaster No. 9" on the lid. The inside of the lid has the trademarked zig-zag line drip rings. It is also marked with a series of trademark dates. The bottom of the roaster is marked "Wagner Ware/ Sidney -O- Oval Roaster/ 1289. This roaster dates to between 1922 and 1959; it is in solid structural condition. It has no cracks but does have rust (mostly on the bottom of the roaster). Properly cleaned and seasoned, the roaster could provide years of service. It comes with an unmarked aluminum trivet; the roaster measures 10" tall with the lid and 20.5" wide at each side handle.
