1) U.S. 8th Air Force Ike jacket with trousers. Jacket was made by Smith-Gray and has officer AAF and "U.S." lapel insignia, silver 1st lieutenant bars on the shoulder, and a felt 8th Air Force patch on the left shoulder. The inside of the lining is stamped "JAMES E. SMITH / 0-1293770". 2) U.S. 8th Air Force winter service coat tailored by Polikoff, London, England, with "U.S." and officer AAF lapel insignia and an embroidered 8th Air Force patch on the left shoulder. The left chest has a pin back U.S. pilot wing over three service ribbons (Silver Star, Air medal with three oak leafs, and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal). The right chest has an embroidered RAF wing. Note that American pilots who served with the Royal Air Force or Royal Canadian Air Force prior to America's declaration of war and transferred to the USAAF after the war declaration would wear RAF/RCAF wings on their right breast with USAAF wings on the left breast. Condition: 1) The coat is excellent, with the exception of missing stitching on the lining at the collar and wear under the right sleeve. The trousers are excellent, with the exception of a few very minor stains. 2) The coat is excellent showing little wear. The trousers are excellent with a noticeable hem line on the right leg.
