WWII Nazi dot 1944 Code 98K Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet
This is an excellent example of a late war, 98K rifle as manufactured by the Waffenwerke Brunn A.G. in BRNO. The top of the receiver is marked with "dot" the wartime code for Waffenwerke Brunn A.G. in BRNO, over an "eagle 63" Waffenamt, over "1944". The left side of the barrel and receiver have the Nazi Eagle firing proof with the serial number and "eagle/63" on the rear of the barrel only, and the side wall has the "Mod 98" markings. The floor plate is milled and the trigger guard and barrel bands are stamped, with welding on the barrel bands. The bolt is matching and no other parts are numbered. Ramp front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. The rifle is mounted with a laminated stock and matching handguard with the cupped buttplate and marked with a faint "eagle/H" on the right rear. Sling and cleaning rod are absent. Complete with a "44asw" code bayonet with serrated Bakelite handle, metal scabbard and leather frog. The bayonet and scabbard are matching numbered, however to another gun. The back of the frog is stamped with a "eagle/swastika/M".
