This is scarce example of a late "byf" coded, 41 dated Luger pistol with the rare "Ku" Luftwaffe proof marks. The meaning of "Ku" has long been a subject of speculation, with most experts concluding that these were a late war Luftwaffe contract, that was assembled with substandard parts, hence the use of the "Ku" or "Kummerrer" markings behind the serial number, indicating leftover or mis-sized parts. While others have theorized that these were assembled by the Krieghoff factory using left over Mauser parts. In either case there were only approximately 5000 total produced making these fairly scarce. The serial number on the barrel extension has the "Ku" suffix. The right side of the barrel extension has the hence the stylized "LA" proof on the right side of the barrel extensions, as well as on the barrel, along with a single eagle/135 proof. The left side of the frame is marked "P.08", with extractor and upper safety area marked "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" respectively. Fitted with checkered walnut grips, with both having the full serial number on the back side. It has the standard military serialization with the full serial number on the frame and barrel extension with the last two digits on the various small parts. It is complete with one blue magazine that is marked, with an "eagle/37" and "fxo/P.08" on the side. The aluminum base has been numbered "1699".
