WWII Japanese Flag
"WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS BY THE AUCTIONEER ONCE ALL BIDS HAVE BEEN PROCESSED TO DETERMINE THE WINNER FOR EACH LOT."
Japanese flag given to WWII soldier Yamada Sanchi by members of his village. Written in red and black in Japanese: ''Congratulations for going to war'' and ''Wish for long lasting military fortune.'' Also signed ''Ono Village Youth Group'' and ''Ono Village Woman's Association.'' Though a popular symbol during the war, the Japanese flag today is quite controversial with many believing it denotes extreme nationalism. Cotton flag measuring approximately 38'' x 27'' is in good condition with moderate soiling.
