WWI U.S. Colt Model 1911 Black Army Semi-Automatic Pistol
Manufactured in 1918. The left side of the slide is marked in two line blocks "PATENTED APR. 20,1897. SEPT. 9, 1902 / DEC. 19, 1905. FEB.14, 1911. AUG. 19,1913" with the Rampant Colt and "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". The left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and the right side marked with the serial number. An "Eagle's head/s15" inspection stamp is marked on the left side of frame above the magazine release. The right side of the slide is marked "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". Checkered slide stop, thumb safety, magazine release and hammer spur with a smooth trigger and backstrap. Blue barrel marked with a "P" and "H" and an unmarked two tone magazine with lanyard loop on the bottom. Fitted with two-piece diamond pattern checkered walnut grips.

Condition: Very fine, with 60% of the original black army finish remaining with gray patina forming on the barrel, slide, frame, frontstrap and backstrap. Light pressure marks on both sides of slide with mild edge wear and scattered spotting throughout. The grips are fine with light pressure marks on the left grip checkering, otherwise sharp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
