32 inch single fuller blade, with etched decoration on the spine and sides, and "Starling S. Wilcox/From His Brother/James B. Wilcox/Sept. 10. 1917" on the left side. 3-branch guard, with a grooved grip. Research shows a Starling Sullivant Wilcox as an Ohio doctor and author of the text, "Essentials of Genito-Urinary and Venereal Diseases." Dr. Wilcox entered military service as a First Lieutenant in the Volunteers, 11 March 1901. Information from the consignor states that both Starling S. and James B. Wilcox were the sons of Colonel James A. Wilcox, Commanding Officer of the 113th Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War.

Condition: Fine. The blade is in very good condition. The hilt retains 40% original nickel plated finish. The etching is very strong on the blade. The sword is missing the scabbard.
