"W. BOND" marked lock, the top of the rear barrel flat is marked "LOMBARD STREET LONDON" and the left rear upper flat is marked with two Birmingham proof marks. Brass barrel, trigger guard and forend cap, with a snap bayonet mounted on the underside of the barrel. The bayonet is released by a trigger type mechanism mounted just ahead of the trigger guard. The muzzle measures approximately 1 1/2" and the barrel was made without sights. Wooden ramrod mounted on the left side of the barrel, secured by two brass pipes. Mounted with a walnut half straight grip stock with checkered wrist, brass buttplate and a round silver plate on the underside with light floral leaf engraving.
BBL: 14 inch part octagon
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 1 1/2 inch
Finish: bright
Grips:
Serial Number: NSN
Condition: Good. The brass components have an aged patina. And the iron parts have a smooth mottled gray patina with some minor pitting on the bayonet. The spring in the bayonet is strong, however the bayonet has to be manually locked in place when deployed. The right side of the stock where the wedge comes through is missing a small piece and there is a crack running from the front of the lock to the forend cap, otherwise the revarnished stock is very good with a few minor dings and scratches and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
