This is an excellent example of a, very early Model 1920 commercial Luger. As we all know these 1920 Commercial Lugers were usually military reworks, however this example appears to be of a new manufacture with an extremely low serial number "19" with no letter code. The actual serial number appears to be hand-stamped as they are slightly farther apart than normal which could be indicative of an early sales example. The Luger itself has no acceptance or firing proofs, and it is marked with only the serial number on the front of the frame, the left side of the barrel extension, and the side plate. The balance of the parts are unserialized. The top of the chamber is blank and it has the correct "DWM" logo on the front toggle assembly. It is correctly marked with "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" on the safety and extractor respectively. It is correctly fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips and it has an all rust blued metal finish with straw colored small parts.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 7.65 mm Luger
Finish: blue/straw colors
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 19
Condition: Very fine with 95% of the original rust blued finish overall with minor edge and high spot wear, with some minor spotting on the front and rear grip strap. The various small parts retain 50% plus of their original straw colors. The walnut grips are in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering on both side with the right side showing just a slight more amount of wear across the tops of the checkering with a single light pressure dent in the middle of the grip panel. Mechanically fine, but hold open does not engage. As noted this is an excellent example of a very scarce, two digit 1920 Commercial Luger.
