Two European Percussion Pistols -A) Unmarked Double Barrel Percussion Pistol with Extensive Etching
A) Bead front and notch rear sights with extensive acid etching, including scrollwork and a scene of two men on horseback divided between the barrels. More etching is present on the frame, with scenes of a deer near a fence on the left side and a pair of rabbits on the right, with double hammers, dual triggers and a wide border etched trigger guard. Fancy one piece grips with attractive wire inlay, done in floral patterns on the sides and butt.

B) Produced without sights, with a 3-3/4 inch triangular blade under the barrel, light scroll engraving on the sides of the frame, and a "crown over R" proof mark on the bottom of the barrel. Smooth bag shaped burl walnut grip with a brass cap box in the butt.

A) Fine. The etched designs are very strong overall, with some mild spotting and handling marks. Most of the original finish is in the protected areas and on the trigger guard. Grips are excellent, with a fine aged patina on the wire and some mild pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.

B) Good, with a pleasing brownish patina with light spotting overall. Wood and action are fine. Bayonet functions fine.
