The Godfather Accordion
A true iconic one-of-a-kind treasure from the one and only "The Godfather" (1972). This is the actual accordion played in the famous Fredo-Michael Las Vegas sequence. Everyone remembers the moment Fredo (John Cazale), thinking he's impressing his younger, but more powerful and intelligent brother Michael (Al Pacino) who passed him over as head of the family, by showing him a "good time" on his first trip to Las Vegas to discuss the family's taking over the business. We first see the accordion player inside the room as Fredo instructs him to start up "For He's The Golly Good Fellow" followed by Michael's strained and annoyed expression. The accordion player was actually a well known profession musician named Bertram Buddy Lambert who actually played the song (and subsequent "Mona Lisa"), live, on the set while the scene went on. The accordion, which he owned for most of his professional life, was given by his son. It is a professional Sonola Model SS-6 with custom installation (including amplifier inputs), and is still in excellent working order. It comes in its original cobalt blue lined case with original catalogue. The unique "Godfather" collectable comes with a Letter of Provenience. (Accordion, with baffles closed. is approx. 19"x18"x8". Case is approx. 24"x19"x10"), Because of the size and weight of this item, extra shipping will be added.
