The collection of 24 medals of Tatarstan was created in 2005 to enrich and promote the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia. It was created with the help of the development of the national culture "Raftau", with the scientific and methodological aid of the Institute of History of. S.Mardzhani, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Union of Artists of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The collection is made up of 24 medals, each with a circulation ranging from 2000 to 9000. These were minted at the Mint of the Republic of Turkey and produced in silver, gold, platinum, nickel, brass or bronze. The case of the latter, sterling silver was used). Sets of 2, 4, 6, 12 and 24 medals can be created depending on the mixtures of materials used. Thus, more than 25 metal mixtures have been used to create assemblies accessible to all.
Several modern techniques have been used such as:
Knurled grinding;
Blackening;
Silverware;
Gilding.
The medals are accompanied by a certificate specifying the details of each of them in addition to a certificate of numismatic rarity issued by the Mint and the Public Treasury of the Republic of Turkey. In addition, the casing made of noble wood and red velvet highlights the precious and rare aspect of this collection.
Shown on one of the medals, the "Kazan Kremlin", a historical and architectural monument, is on UNESCO's list of world cultural heritage.
During the official events dedicated to the millennium of the founding of the city of Kazan, as an international events, commemorative medals were given as gifts to the distinguished guests, symbol of the unique beauty and richness of Russian Tatarstan. Part of the medal collection has been transferred as a free gift to the biggest museums in Russia and abroad.
In conclusion, the sets of 24 sterling silver medals were intended for museums and distinguished guests as well, this is an extremely rare collection! According to the russian media, less than 5 set of 24 medals were made.
