Additional information: This lot includes the complete book "La Treille Muscate" (The Grape Vine) by Robert Leger with 4 original Gouache, 42 original lithographs in colours and a set of 11 proof of different states and colour plates for one lithograph by Constantin Terechkovitch.
The four gouaches on paper are titled "Pampre/ Vine", "La Treille Muscate/The Grape Vine", "Les Fleurs/The Flowers" and "Le Jardinier/The Gardener", these last two having also some drawing in pencil. They are each hand-signed by the artist. They are very probably the original studies for the lithographs of the book.
The 14 Lithographs on Japon paper (titled "Pampre/ Vine", "Port de Saint - Tropez/Saint Tropez Harbour", "La Treille Muscate/The Grape Vine", "Matinee sur la plage/Morning on the beach", "La petit train du mer/Little train of the sea", "La plage ensoleillee/Sunny beach", "L'enfant au verre du vin/Boy with glass of wine, "Les vendanges/Grapes harvest", "Bauillabaisse au clair de lun/Bauillabaisse in the moonlight, "Les Fleurs/Flowers,"Roses", "Le Jardinier/Gardener", "Les Chats/Cats", "Retour du Marche/Back at work" ) are spread throughout the book, some are with text, and some are on full pages.
In addition, there is another set of these 14 lithographs on Arches paper and another set on Japon nacre paper.
Finally, there is the "gamme montante" (set of 11 proofs of different states and colour plates on Arches paper) for one lithograph, "Bauillabaisse au clair de lun".
All the lithographs were printed by Edmond and Jacques Desjobert in Paris in 1961.
The work was published in Paris in 1961 in a limited edition of only 151 copies.
However, our copy was especially printed for Paul Petrides (1901-1993), an important Parisian art dealer who represented the artists of the Ecole de Paris, notably Utrillo, Vlaminck and Fujita.

Condition: Excellent condition, a part from some minor pinholes beside the margins in 3/4 gouaches.
