Produced by Wilkinson Sword Company, with the U.S. Historical Society as their American representatives, this sword is number 17 of a limited 100 sword run produced for the 25th anniversary Silver Jubilee of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. 30 inch colichemarde profile blade, 1 1/4 inch wide across the base, with "H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II/SILVER JUBILEE 1977" on one side and the number "17" over the Wilkinson markings on the reverse, all filled with gold. The hilt is constructed from gold and Sterling silver, with extensive proofmarks. The guard has a cut-through leaf pattern, with a golden shamrock, leak, thistle and rose, the symbolic flowers of Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England, respectively, with red velvet backed leaf designs on the ricasso and pommel, along with a second gold English Rose. The grip shows strips of gold and silver in a spiral twist pattern, with the Royal Coat of Arms in enameled gold on the right. Of particular note is the knuckle guard, which is decorated on the left with cut-through English Rose pattern engraving, an on the right with a gold panel which serves as the mounting for twenty-five (yes, 25) diamonds, of approximately 2 carats weight. A purple velvet lined mahogany case is included with the blade, along with the original U.S. Historical Society sales brochure, unfilled warranty card, a pair of white gloves for handling and the keys to the case.

Condition: Excellent, with minimal handling marks overall, and the beginnings of an aged patina showing on the hilt. A superb display piece, showcasing the arts of the British swordsmiths, metalsmiths, and jewelers.
