(Paramount, 1950) Original release US 14 x 36” insert poster. Billy Wilder’s Sunset Boulevard is not just a true classic in the Film Noir genre, but an icon of film poster design as well, with its dramatic depiction of aging and forgotten silent screen star Gloria Swanson(portraying a caricature of her own faltered career) in her “ready for my close-up” moment, looming over doomed William Holden, who sold his soul for an easy paycheck. An added bonus of this “insert” size poster is the inclusion at the bottom of one of the great scenes in the canon of Film Noir. Condition is quite remarkable for its age, with two very light folds(as opposed to three as is normal for this size), a few minor handling bumps and wrinkles, and no restoration whatever save for a tiny tear retouch at center of top margin. Original colors are the brightest we have ever seen for this title. Very Fine.
