This case is for a Texas Paterson percussion revolver. It measures 13 1/4 inches wide, 6 3/4 inches deep and 2 1/4 inches high. There is a silver inset shield on the lid and it has maroon velvet lining. In the case is an original lacquered and polished charger for a Belt Model #3. There is a knurled ring on each end and the interior ball inserts are made of sweetgum wood. The center band has the early style inscription"{Paterson N J.-Colt's Pt. wavy line Patent Arms." with four script lines above and below the marking and there is a small number "17" on the side. An original brass capper with relief Rampant Colt over crossed pistols "COLTS PATENT/PATENT ARMS MANG CO PATERSON N.J." around the outer edge in a double line border. An original brass cleaning rod with wooden handle. An original Paterson Holster Model combination tool. A Paterson 36 caliber bullet mold. An original Paterson cylinder with the roll engraved Centaur scene.

Condition: The case is very good. A coat of varnish has been applied some time ago and there are a few minor dings and scratches on the exterior. The original lining is very good showing some minor contact wear. The modern reproduction cylinder has a smooth artificial gray patina, the scene has been re-rolled and there are numerous tiny holes throughout the scene. The charger is very good with an attractive aged patina. A couple of the chargers are bent slightly. The combination tool has 30% blue with the balance a smooth dark patina with some scattered original bright blue finish. The capper is very good with a dark aged patina. The bullet mold is fine with 40% original nitre blue, the balance a dark patina and some minor spotting. The cleaning rod is very good with several dents and dings in the handle.
