Standard Arms Co. Model G Manual Slide Action Rifle, #7477, .35 Rem. cal., 22-1/2'' barrel, ornately cast brass forend and buttplate with game scenes and stylized Standard Arms Co. logo, Marbles tang sight with brass bead front sight, checkered pistol-grip walnut buttstock. Mfg'd in Wilmington, DE, from 1909 to 1914. Condition is very good retaining approx. 90% blue to barrel and mag tube, thinning in pump action area, with general thinning and toning to gray flat sides of receiver. Stock with beautiful reddish brown hue, light flattening to checks, and minor scuffs. Action is crisp, bore is very good and should clean. This rifle represents one of the earliest attempts to employ gas to operate a piston-driven firearm mechanism. This rifle can be used in semi-automatic mode or reconfigured for pump action.
