Smith and Wesson 1st Model Hand Ejector revolver, .44 S&W Special caliber, Serial #3196. The pistol is in fine overall condition with a 6 ½” barrel. The pistol retains approximately 95% of its muted bluefinish with wear at the muzzle and a drag line on the cylinder noted. The pistol features a five screw frame and vivid case coloring of the hammer and trigger. The checkered wood grips are in very goodcondition. Brass tacks have been added as decoration to the grips during the period of use. The bore is very good, the action crisp and markings are sharp. The pistol includes a Smith and Wesson factory letter confirming all features and indicating the pistol was shipped to M.W. Robinson, New York City, NY, on March 29, 1911. Also known as the .44 New Century Triple Lock, 1st Model Hand Ejectors were introduced in 1908 andmanufactured until 1915. A nice example of an early Triple lock. From the estate of Larry Gaertner.
