Smith & Wesson first model DA frontier revolver, 44-40 cal., nickel finish, hard rubber grips, barrel reduced to 2-1/2”, #2279. The pistol shows 95% of an older re-nickel finish, the grips are good, the action and bore are good. A favoritemodel of John Westley Hardin who carried two in custom holsters made inside his vest. Great for re-enactors. The barrel has been neatly shortened and the front sight neatly replaced. Est.: $400-$800.
