The rifled Damascus barrel gauges at approximately .50 caliber percussion with a blade front sight and an adjustable notch rear sight. The top barrel flat has "FR. BAADER IN MUNCHEN" inlaid in sliver behind the rear sight. The breech end of the barrel has a 2 inch wedge of a silver inlaid scroll pattern. The inlaid scroll pattern extends to the breech plug, upper tang, hammer, lock plate, side plate, and buttplate tang. The breech plug also has a proof on the top. "F. BAADER" is inlaid in silver on the lock plate. A grotesque dragon-like sculpted hammer, casehardened tang peep sight and double set triggers. The nicely figured full length walnut stock has fine checkering on the stock wrist and forearm, a horn forend cap, an artfully shaped horn trigger guard, and two barrel wedges with scalloped edged German silver escutcheons. A fine deep relief floral carving accents the stock checkering, the area around the upper tang, and the area around the cheekpiece. The area around the cheekpiece has the most ornate craving presented on this rifle and has a textured background. There is a wooden patch box on the right side of the buttstock. The patch box is checkered and has a large carved floral blossom.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 40% of the Damascus pattern with an overall smooth gray patina. The remaining iron surfaces have a mottled gray patina. Almost all of the silver inlay remains. The repaired trigger guard has a few missing minor chips. The left stock flat has a long repaired crack and a putty filled repair. Otherwise the stock is fine with some minor dings and scratches. There are a couple minor gouges and some wear in the overall crisp checkering. The stock carving is crisp.
