Sea Serpent Sideboard
Sea Serpent carved side board, (can also be used as a back bar), from the Paddack Restaurant, Hyannis, Ma., was being used in the restaurant that it stood in for 35 years. The Paddack Restaurant, Hyannis Ma (right at the rotary), was used graciously there in restaurant. The remarkable part is that Tim first came across this piece over 30 years ago and was able to obtain it this year when visiting the Cape. Very lucky to have at this auction! Remarkable find in today's market place! Probably the best of the best that we have been able to sell. Oak carved sideboard, attributed to R.J. Horner, the top back splash is remarkable in itself with sea serpents and large carved urns, all in original finish, remarkably survived very well being used for all those years! This is the one to buy! This would make a wonderful gift to the Holidays! Every time Tim and family went to the restaurant, he said he would love to have this piece and we are lucky to be able to offer this. This piece also features to magnificently carved 3 dimensional sea serpent/griffins with lion's head and claw feet, wings, and serpentine necks, beveled mirror back, carved columns and feet. All original, fantastic, very unique piece of Cape Cod history and splendor!
