Scarce Frank Wesson First Type Small Frame Watch Fob Superposed Pistol
Manufactured from 1868 to 1880 with a total production of a little less than 3,000, this small frame pistol is also known as the "Watch Fob" model, because of it's round, ring type hammer. Superposed barrels with a center "barrel", which occasionally houses a sliding dirk (not on this pistol). The rear barrel flats are marked "FRANK WESSON / WORCESTER, MASS. / PAT. DEC.15. 1868." The serial number is marked on the left side of the frame under the grip and both panels are stamped with the matching number. Unfinished brass frame, blue barrels, casehardened trigger and hammer, and fitted with smooth birds head rosewood grips. Missing the sliding dirk.

Very good. The barrel have a silver gray patina with some minor pitting. The frame has a natural, untouched aged patina. The grips are very good with some high edge wear and a few minor dings and dents. The markings on one side of the barrel is beginning to fade, otherwise the markings are clear. Mechanically fine.
