Manufactured in 1970, as part of the transition to the Series 70 1911's. Only about 1,000 of the "BB", (barrel bushing) marked guns were produced. The serial number is marked on the right side of the frame over "BB" and the barrel is marked "BB", in addition to the standard markings. The sides of the frame and slide, trigger, hold back and safety levers have the high polished Colt blue finish and the remaining surfaces have a matte finish. Complete with a two piece Kraft box, hand numbered to the gun with the proper label and information sheet. With factory letter dated July 30, 1970 from R.H. Wagner the spare parts supervisor explaining the "BB" markings.

Condition: Excellent with 96% of the original finish with some wear and minor pitting on the muzzle. The front strap and magazine floor plate have some scuffs. Both grips show heavy shrinkage. The left grip has a small crack at the top screw hole. The box is very good with a corner ripped.
