Scarce C.S. Pettengill Pocket Model Revolver
Produced in the late 1850s as one of around 300 Third Model Pettengill revolvers. Pin and notch sights, with the top of the frame marked "PETTENGILL'S / PATENT 1856" and the bottom of the frame is marked "RAYMOND & ROBITAILLE / PATENTED 1858". Matching serial number on the butt, two places on the loading lever assembly, cylinder, inside of the trigger guard and on the inside of each grip panel. Fitted with a two piece solid loading lever and two piece smooth varnished grips.

Condition: Very fine, with approximately 85% original blue finish, showing a brown and gray patina on the remainder, with some light spotting on the barrel. The frame and trigger guard have a smooth gray patina with scattered traces of the original finish mainly in the protected areas. Excellent grips, with nearly all of the original varnish, some very minor edge wear and a few minor dings and handling marks. One of the percussion nipples has about a 1/3 missing. Mechanically very good.
