<td width="100%">
Satsuma vase from after 1921 in the Japanese Kitani time period. This vase features the Emperor of Japan at Mt Fujiyama. There are 2 Immortals on the vase (only one female is permitted) with golden halos around their heads to show their immortality. The vase is in the summer/winter style. There are the main figures in the front telling the story. The back of the vase shows the landscape (sky, clouds, and earth) encircling the vase. There are numerous raised areas under the glaze: borders of clothing, small white beads and decorations, borders around the vase. The colors are bright and cheerful, as is the countenance of the female Immortal, who is serenading the miserable looking Emperor. The sight is amusing to see him pouting with folded arms. There is minor wear on the finish around the gold border and some minor wear at the base. Don't let this charming vase get away!
