<td width="100%">
This unusual ?Faun with Pan Flute? (No. 1736) porcelain figurine has a Crown and ROYAL COPENHAGEN stamp in green and a blue wave mark which correspond to pieces made prior to 1923. The fact that it has a painter's number (164) tells us it was made in the 1893 -1928 period (after 1928 the painter's number was replaced with his initials). If you compare this early Faun to later pieces, its superior craftmanship and artistry is evident. In mythology fauns are half man - half goat creatures who inhabit the forests, are fond of music and are said to have invented the flute. In good used condition with professional restoration (unnoticeable). Please ask questions, request additional photos and shipping costs prior to bidding.
