Revolutionary war period French flintlock pistol model of 1763/66, dated 1774. As found untouched original condition. This regulation .69 caliber pistol shows 9” barrel and metal surfaces show a light to slightly heavy scattered rust and pitting with absolutely no cleaning and in its original flintlock configuration. The stock is in good to very good condition with some small marks, mars, a few worm holes, slight hairline cracks, normal aging. Carved behind sideplate with initial “B” and military type “C” [Star] “81” and a good clear cartouche behind the sideplate. There is a inventory or museum type number that has been electric pencil engraved on the trigger guard and is light. A period iron ramrod is included. Many of these were imported and used in the revolution. Refer: G. C. Neumann’s Battle Weapons, page 253. With appraisal letter from noted Eastern dealer Paul M.
