Remington New Model Navy Percussion Revolver
Manufactured from 1863 to 1878 with a total production of about 22,000. Marked "PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858 / E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION, NEW-YORK U.S.A. / NEW-MODEL" on the top barrel flat. The bottom of the barrel is marked with the serial number "36461" and the frame under the grip and each grip panel "36561, (could be a factory error). The left rear of the trigger guard bow is marked "J". Pinch front sight on a round screw in stud, notch in top strap rear sight and fitted with smooth walnut grips. "KM 225" is marked in white on the butt. This is recognized by writer as number 225 of the famous Karl Moldenaur Collection.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel, loading lever and cylinder retain 95% bright original high polish blue finish with some mild flaking on the cylinder and minor spotting on the barrel. The frame retains 60% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the exposed areas. The grip straps have a smooth grayish brown patina. The grips are excellent with a couple minor dents on the bottom of the right panel and overall a few tiny dings. The action needs work, the hammer with not go into full cock, otherwise functions fine. The markings are clear.
