Condition: Very good. The rifle has a smooth dark patina with some light spotting. There is some minor flash pitting which extends to the lock plate. The brass has mostly a polished appearance. The stock has been repaired in the wrist areas, otherwise very good with some minor dings and scratches. The varnish on the right side of the forearm ahead of the lock plate has been removed to leave an inscription in paint under the removed varnish: "REICHENBACH, LANCASTER PA / 1800-1887".
