Rare and Exceptional Gold Inlaid Winchester Model 52C Sporter Bolt Action Rifle From the John M. Olin Collection

As confirmed by the copy of a letter from Eugene F. Williams, Jr., this rifle was once the personal property of the late John M. Olin. The rifle was manufactured in 1959 and features a hooded ramp front sight and a receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting. The receiver was factory tapped for scope mounts, which is evident by the two Winchester proofs offset to the left side of the barrel and receiver. The trigger guard assembly does not have "sporting" markings due to "O.T." and "Pull" adjustment screws, just like on target M52s. A gold inlaid "JMO" on the trigger guard for John M. Olin. The special order high grade walnut pistol grip stock has checkering on the forearm and grip area, an ebony forend cap, raised cheekpiece, steel grip cap, sling swivel studs and a checkered buttplate.

Excellent. The rifle retains 97% plus original blue finish showing some loss at the muzzle and some minor thinning on the bolt knob and buttplate. The stock is excellent with some minor handling marks. Overall the checkering remains crisp. Mechanically excellent.
