This item is a gorgeous mahogany dish-top bird cage candle stand, in the Queen Anne style, and originating from Philadelphia between 1770-1790. The tilting table top sits prominently on a tripod base, with curved cabriole legs. The table top has an early latch on the underside - flip the latch, and the table top pivots on a beautiful base, composed of four turned spools, and thick mahogany slabs. The table is an exceptional example of early American styling, and shows good condition overall. There are some chips on the raised lip around the edge of the table top. The table measures 27 1/8" tall, and 20 3/4" wide and deep.
