Georgian–American perfumer (1885–1935) who established the Prince Matchabelli Perfume Company with his wife Princess Norina. The company became known for color-coded, crown-shaped bottles that housed such classic scents as Wind Song, Ave Maria, and Princess Norina. Uncommon TLS signed “G. Matchabelli,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Prince Matchabelli Perfumery, Inc. letterhead, July 23, 1934. Letter to Roland Hunt, in full: "I am terribly sorry to have delayed so long answering your letter, and especially I was sorry not to have found you when I was in London. I looked in the telephone directory but could not locate you, and since I was there only two days I did not have time to look further. I am returning your MSS which you so kindly sent to me, and which I wanted to discuss with you during my stay in London. It is very interesting, but it is not written in exactly the way I would want it to be if it were published under my name. I believe it could be done only if we had a chance to be together and work out all of the details. I appreciate very much your thought in sending it to me, and if you come to the States as you have planned, please do not fail to see me." In very good condition, with toning, singeing, and chipping to the edges, none of which affect the text or signature.
